Just in time for the blockbuster cinematic release, Hasbro has unveiled a brand-new way to experience Mario's latest big-screen adventure. The legendary toy company has officially launched Monopoly: The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Edition. Merging the classic property-trading mechanics with the vibrant, gravity-defying world of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, the new board game offers fans an interactive twist on family game night. In this special edition of Monopoly, players have the chance to jump into the Gateway Galaxy and buy up iconic locations that the moustachioed hero and his pals visit throughout the new film. The board features memorable cinematic properties like the Comet Observatory and Fossil Falls. Adding a unique twist to traversal, standard Railroad spaces have been replaced by Launch Stars, which dynamically send players flying across the board. The gameplay mechanics have also been tweaked to fit the galaxy-hopping narrative. When a player lands on or passes GO, they collect a Luma chip, which is worth valuable coins. However, players will also need to watch their backs for the wandering Bowser Jr. token-if he lands on a player's spot, they are instantly forced into battle. To navigate the cosmos, players can choose from six colorful, custom-sculpted plastic Monopoly tokens. The character-inspired pieces include Mario's hat, Luigi's hat, Princess Peach's umbrella, Toad's headlamp, a Yoshi egg, and an adorable Luma.
