Toy Retailers Come Together for Charity Christmas Appeal

Toy Street has joined forces with toy retailers across the country to support a national charity Christmas appeal. In total, 8 different retailers and suppliers came together to donate an enormous bundle of toys worth thousands of pounds. The presents will be distributed to children by Family Action, a national charity which supports families facing poverty and disadvantage throughout the UK.

Family Action

Family Action has been providing support to vulnerable people for more than 150 years. They work with families facing complex issues such as financial hardship, mental health problems, learning disabilities, and domestic abuse. Since 2009, their annual Christmas appeal, Make Theirs Magic, has provided gifts for children up and down the country who might otherwise have had nothing. This year, the demand for support is bigger than ever, so Toy Street stepped in to help.

Toy Street Joins Forces With Suppliers

Toy Street is an online retailer of toys and games for children of all ages. When we heard about Family Action’s Make Theirs Magic appeal, we decided to reach out to our suppliers for help. Another seven businesses got involved in the effort: Orchard Toys, John Adams, Big Potato Games, Thames and Kosmos, Aurora Toys, Bird and Bear Toys, and Epoch Toys. Together, we provided toys and games worth thousands of pounds to bring some festive cheer to children who wouldn’t otherwise get any Christmas presents.

Rebecca, marketing supervisor at Toy Street, said, “We are delighted to be supporting Family Action’s Christmas appeal with this donation. It’s been such a tough year for so many families but every child deserves a treat at Christmas time. We’re so grateful to all our wonderful suppliers who helped make this donation possible.”

I am a strong German Shepherd, both smart and bold with tremendous spirit, and a heart of gold.

This good boy really is a best friend. Spirit has the cutest black face and muzzle with brown around his eyes and chin. The fluffiest brown belly is perfect for tummy rubs! His button black nose will sniff out all of the treats, whilst his gold, glittery eyes will keep you giving him more. I was a lion when I was born, then I magically grew a horn. I know that this is not the norm, but now I am a unicorn!

I came from the desert, where it is warm. My ears may be huge, but so is my charm!

Phoenix is a ball of white fluff with tufts of fur inside of each of her ears. Blending into the sand, her white fur glitters beneath the sun and her bright pink ears stand out like a sore thumb. For a barn owl, I am so cute. When I am happy, I say, Hoot, hoot!

Coming out at night, Percy the Barn Owl is an absolute hoot! The fuzziest entry on our list, Percy has mottled brown and beige feathers with tiny brown wings. His cream coloured face is the cutest thing, only contested with those big golden, glittery eyes that sparkle in the moonlight. Percy also has tiny feet and a beak that glitter in silver under the starlight. This owl is the cutest creature to keep an eye out for at night!

I am a bit shy, and also quite smart. May I please have a place in your heart?

Birthday: 24th October

Coming in at the top of our list is the playful Linus the Lemur! Known for swinging from tree to tree on the island of Madagascar, Linus is a ring-tailed lemur, the perfect primate pal. He may have black patches surrounding his large, glittery gold button eyes, but make no mistake, Linus is no panda. His grey and white stripy tail lets him swing from the trees and look over his tropical paradise. Linus will easily steal your heart, even if he is a little naughty!
